Healthy McGill’s Self-Care Challenge

This February Healthy McGill is challenging you to a #SelfCareChallenge. Are you up for it? For 15 days from February 10 – 24 there are five challenges to choose from every day; do one, two, or even all five, and then show us or tell us about it on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #SelfCareChallenge. So what is it and why is it important? Self care consists of actions and attitudes which can contribute to the maintenance of well-being and personal health that promote human development. It’s about intentionally and unintentionally engaging in thoughts and actions that may have positive and affirming impacts on our mind, body, and spirit. While self care is great it’s certainly not a one size fit all. Seeking treatment when needed is self care. As with everything at Healthy McGill we advocate for you finding and doing what’s right for you.

The point of this campaign is to raise awareness and to get you thinking about self care and potentially doing it, when you might not otherwise, especially during midterms. Remember, you don’t have to do all five or even one each day. Feel free to even go rogue and make up your own challenges & let us all know what self care actions you like! It’s important to always do what is right for you! We’re here to help support you in whatever that is!

We’ve even heard a rumour that some self-carers who share their challenges with us on social media may win some awesome prizes! Like what, you ask? For starters, we have a six-class Bootcamp Montreal pack, jump ropes, one day Naada yoga passes, liquor-filled chocolates, David’s Tea sample packs, bubble bath supplies, Shag Shop gifts, destress kits, & gift cards. You know, just to name a few. Do at least three challenges for a gift – the more you do the more awesome the prizes are!
