Intro to the Office of Students with Disabilities

All new and returning students are invited to an interactive orientation on “What I Wish I Knew When I started McGill” based on the feedback of current McGill students with disabilities. Get intros to OSD staff, exam procedures, learning resources, and note-taking technology tips. Come meet our staff, some currently registered students and get your semester started on the right foot.

Join the Faculty of Medicine Terry Fox Run team

Join the McGill Faculty of Medicine Inter-Professional Team for this annual run/walk/stroll in support of cancer research. Last year the team had over 250 participants (the largest team in Montreal history) and raised nearly $10,000!

Learn or perfect your French for clinical settings

The Faculty of Medicine gives a Medical French Conversation Course to provide the language skills required to interact with francophone patients and their families. Classes take place Saturday mornings.

Placements tests will be held September 10-14 from 13:30-17:00

Graduate funding from CIHR
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research are offering a webinar about their graduate award programs, relevant CIHR policies, tips for applicants, and guidelines on how to submit an application.

Webinars will be Tuesday, September 11 at 11:00 (English session) and Wednesday, September 12 11:00 (French session).

Volunteer Opportunities

Become a Crisis Text Line volunteer

Kids Help Phone has introduced the Crisis Text Line service which provides empathetic support to young people via text messaging.

They are now recruiting volunteer Bilingual Crisis Responders to answer texts from young people in both English and French.

Advocate for nursing with future health care professionals

The McGill Association of Students in Healthcare (MASH) is recruiting a nursing representative for a workshop introducing Vanier College cégep students to the health care professions. The rep would present a few slides on the roles of nurses and then help facilitate case study discussions with the students. The workshop is planned for early 2019.
